四川传媒学院（原成都理工大学广播影视学院）是经国家教育部批准设立，全国统一招生，实施本专科学历教育的应用型全日制普通高等学校。18年来面向文化产业发展，砥砺奋进，学院实现了跨越式发展，已为传媒及相关产业输送了近2万名高素质的专业人才。目前学院占地2000余亩，在校生2万余人，生源遍及全国30个省、市、自治区，成为全国重要的现代传媒人才培养基地。
机制体制创新和特色发展塑造了学院的“一流”品质，被教育部广播影视类专业教学指导委员会专家概括为“一流的理念、一流的设备、一流的师资、一流的管理、一流的人才培养模式、一流的学生、一流的学校”，先后荣获了“全国先进独立学院”、“全国优秀院校”、“全国教育教学管理示范高校”、“全国首批创新•就业型大学”、“中国信息化百家优秀成果转化基地”、“中国产学研合作促进奖”等10余个荣誉称号。科学的教育理念确立了人才培养在学院的核心地位。“以学生为本、一切为了学生的健康成长，为了一切学生的全面发展”的办学理念全面体现了学院对学生的人本关怀，努力为学生的成才创造最好的条件和发展空间。“培养宽口径、厚基础、应用性、复合型、一专多能、掌握多项高端专业能力、具有国际视野和创新精神的高素质专业人才”的人才培养目标明确了重素质、重能力、重创新的应用性人才培养模式。“着力培养有工作经验的大学生，力争在校培养的专业能力与将来岗位工作能力零距离接近”的能力要求增强了学生适应社会的能力和就业竞争力。完善的学科专业体系展现了学院传媒艺术教育的优势。学院根据传媒教学的学科特点，设立了13个教学系（部），针对传媒产业链各环节对人才的需求，开设了30多个本科专业和相应的专科专业，并根据市场需求优化设置若干专业方向，逐步构建了相互支撑、相互渗透的新闻传播类、广播影视类、表演类、艺术设计类、文化产业管理类和数字媒体技术类6大特色专业群。30多个本科专业涵盖文、艺、工、管、经等学科门类，形成了以影视传媒为特色，多学科协调发展的综合特性。
一流的教学设施设备彰显了学院的办学实力。学院地处成都高新技术开发西区，校园环境优雅，被省教育厅评定为园林式校园。校舍面积近60余万平方米，有30余幢行政、教学、实验、图书大楼，29幢学生公寓，拥有各项功能完备的体育场地、文化娱乐设施、校园网和其它学习生活条件。
学院建有各类实验室、实习、实训室近100余个，购置了各专业教学所需、完善配套的教学科研设备，教学仪器设备总值达1.9亿元。大量设施设备的配置标准达到或高于行业标准，既可用于教学，也可直接用于产学结合，先进、配套的专业化教学设备令前来考察参观的国内外专家无不感到“震撼”。如有1000余台专业摄像机和600余部数码相机，其中高清摄像机500余台、国际先进的ALEXA、RED、索尼、佳能等系列高端数字电影摄影机10余套、国际先进水平的飞思大画幅数码变焦后背；有非线性编辑系统3500余套、影视后期制作图形工作站1800余套、演播厅、室40余间、录音、配音室150余间、画室130余间；有投资近2000万元引领行业的全媒体互动式演播中心、西部首台3D高清“8+1”转播车、西部领先的录音棚、1.6万平米的大型多功能艺体中心、首个高校中的中影院线数字电影院、4个自办电视频道和省级台标准的全景式电视直播间、电台直播间、具有300多台器械的大型健身中心；与联想、惠普、索尼等集团共建了创新教育中心，建立了苹果、方正飞腾、大洋中科等培训认证中心。优良的教学设施设备使学生在校能得到“早实践、多实践、反复实践”的全程化实践锻炼。实力雄厚的师资队伍保证了学院的教学水平。学院现有教师1000多人，其中有正高级职称100人，副高级职称240多名，具有研究生学位的400多人，汇集了一批川内外传媒、艺术、IT、教育界的专家和技术骨干，建立了一支专业素质高、专兼职结合，老、中、青结合的技能高端化教师队伍。各专业带头人都有较高学术造诣和丰富教学经验、在业界有一定影响的专家、教授。教师中有国务院政府津贴获得者3人、“五个一工程”奖获得者13人、“飞天奖”获得者9人、“华表奖”获得者4人、“百花奖”获得者2人、“金鹰奖”获得者4人、“金鸡奖”获得者3人、“金像奖”获得者3人、四川省教学名师2人、四川省优秀教师1人。由高水平的教师导航、执教，为培养适应“新媒体”、“全媒体”时代需要的高质量传媒生产人才、管理人才、创意人才提供了关键支撑。
不断深化的教育教学改革促进了学院的特色发展。近年来学院以“质量工程”为载体，建设了四川省省级人才培养模式创新实验区“文化产业振新背景下广播影视人才模式创新实验区”、省级实验教学示范中心“广播电视实验教学中心”、省级特色专业“广播电视编导专业”、省级综合改革建设专业“播音与主持艺术专业”、“艺术设计专业”、“广告学专业”、省级教学团队“广告学教学团队”，省级精品课程“影视编剧”、“有声语言表达基础”、“电视画面编辑”等7门，在全省影视传媒教育领域独树一帜，起到了带动、示范作用。学生的健康成长和全面发展铸就了学院的荣誉。学生综合能力、创新能力和实际工作能力强是学院人才培养的突出特色，优秀学生和优秀的学生作品不断涌现，高水平的国际国内大奖层出不穷，多年来获得各类奖项1500余项，其中国际级奖项220余项、国家级奖项500余项，获得专利27项。毕业生深受用人单位欢迎，历届就业率超过96%，一大批学生充实到中央电视台、中央人民广播电台、各省、市级广播电视台、企事业单位宣传部门、知名传媒公司等单位。加强国际交流与合作，拓宽同学们的国际视野。学院目前已与美国北卡州立大学、香港浸会大学、美国纽约电影学院、英国谢菲尔德哈勒姆大学、英国伦敦艺术大学、韩国全州大学、韩国济洲观光大学、日本早稻田大学、日本同志社大学等多个国家和地区的十余所院校开展了不同形式的交流与合作，如与美国纽约电影学院、韩国全州大学等国外院校签定了硕士直通车项目和专升本项目。开设本硕连读国际班、专本连读国际班。已同多个国家和地区开展了短期交换学习、游学和带薪实习等项目。四川传媒学院以培养现代化应用型人才为根本，不断开拓进取，勇于创新，力争把学院办成实力强、水平高、特色鲜明的传媒学院。Sichuan University of Media and CommunicationsAbout UsEstablished in 1997, Sichuan University of Media and Communications (former Radio and Film College of Chengdu University of Technology) is located in the western high-tech development area of Chengdu. SUMC occupies around 330 acres in extent. The college campus contains administrative offices, teaching buildings, college libraries, studios, auditorium, students’ dormitories and multi-purpose labs. SUMC has a student population of more than 20,000 coming from different provinces, cities and autonomous regions. Academic degree programs are primarily focused on Journalism, TV& Film, Acting, Art Design, Cultural Industry Management as well as Digital Media Technologies.The university owns competent teaching staff. At present, there are more than 1000 full time teachers. Among them, more than 100 teachers own senior title, over 240 have associate title and over 400 teachers own master degrees.
